Read this before you start training.

SmartStrength provides fitness programming, workout logging, and nutrition tools. It is not a medical service and is not intended to diagnose, treat, cure, or prevent any disease or condition. The information and suggestions provided through the Service are for general educational and motivational purposes only.

Consult a physician first

Always consult a qualified physician or other licensed healthcare professional before beginning any exercise program, changing your diet, or modifying your training based on information you receive through SmartStrength. This is especially important if you:

  • Have a heart condition or have experienced chest pain;
  • Have high or low blood pressure;
  • Have diabetes or another metabolic condition;
  • Have a history of joint, bone, or muscle injuries;
  • Are pregnant, postpartum, or nursing;
  • Are recovering from surgery or illness;
  • Are taking prescription medications that may affect exercise tolerance;
  • Are over 55 and have not been physically active recently;
  • Feel unwell at any time during exercise.

Listen to your body

If you experience pain, dizziness, shortness of breath, nausea, chest pressure, rapid or irregular heartbeat, or any other unusual symptom during or after exercise, stop immediately and seek medical attention. Do not push through symptoms that might indicate a serious problem.

AI-generated programs are suggestions, not prescriptions

If you are using the AI-trainer features of SmartStrength, the programs and suggestions generated by artificial intelligence are based on general fitness principles and the information you provide. They are not personalized medical advice, not reviewed by a licensed physician, and may not account for your individual health history, medications, or conditions. Always use your own judgment, and consult a professional if you are uncertain whether an exercise is appropriate for you.

Working with a trainer on the platform

If you are using SmartStrength as a client of a personal trainer, your trainer is an independent professional. They are responsible for the programs they design for you. BrainBuilder LLC does not supervise, credential, or guarantee the competence of any trainer on the Service, and the Service does not substitute for in-person supervision by a qualified coach.

Nutrition information

Nutrition data, macro targets, and AI-generated meal analysis are estimates based on general nutrition information. They are not medical or dietetic advice and should not replace guidance from a registered dietitian or physician. If you have a medical condition affected by diet (including but not limited to diabetes, kidney disease, eating disorders, or food allergies), consult a qualified healthcare provider before following any nutrition suggestions from the Service.

No medical emergency help

SmartStrength is not an emergency service. If you are experiencing a medical emergency, call 911 (or your local emergency number) immediately. Do not use the Service to request urgent medical help.

Assumption of risk

By using SmartStrength, you acknowledge that exercise carries inherent risks, that you are voluntarily choosing to participate, and that you assume full responsibility for any injury, illness, or other harm that may result. You release BrainBuilder LLC and its owners, employees, and contractors from any liability arising out of your use of the Service, to the fullest extent permitted by law. Full liability terms are in our Terms of Service.
